You'd think the writer and editor for a self-help online superstore would have no difficulty in answering a question like, "What's the best self-help product for me?" wouldn't you? Well, I'm a little ashamed to say you'd be wrong. You see, that question immediately demands the answer to another, more interesting question.

When you say, 'What's the best self-help product for me?' what exactly do you mean by 'me'?
Now I don't want to get caught up in an existential discussion, here. The nature of reality and identity will have to wait for another time. However, just reflect over the last few days. Think about a situation when you were relaxed (taking a deep bath, maybe). Think about a time when you were anxious (your computer kept crashing). Think about a situation when you were seething (your PC still kept crashing and the IT support desk suggested you try switching it off and back on again). Think about a time when you were content (drinking good coffee with good friends). Think about all those times: was it in truth the same 'me' who occupied each of those little moments in time? Is the livid 'me' the same as the happy 'me'? For most of us, the answer is no. We are not the same individual from one day to the next, and on our more hapless days, we're not even the same person from one moment to the next.
Walt Whitman put it best, I think, when he wrote 'I contain multitudes'.
We all do. We all 'contain multitudes'.

Shed Building: A Complete Guide
How to Build a Shed: The definitive guide.
It all started with a query: 'How to Build a Shed'
I didn't have to go out of my way to convince anyone, I mean we were talking about a shed for heavens sake. When nobody was objecting I should have picked up that I had nobody to convince and kept my mouth shut.
My wife and kids were completely happy to let me get on with buying a shed for our garden and on our first shopping trip, they even tagged along, until...
I began to get a little choosy about what I wanted, flipping the door so it opened the other way, bigger windows, double doors etc. and by the time it dawned on me that the shed I was looking for didn't exist, my family had cut me loose.
It appears that the 'shed is a man thing' applies to me as well.
Whatever, being cut loose by my family was the least of my problems, the main one being that I just couldn't find a shed that I liked, nightmare!
And then suddenly I realized that what I was after was in my head and the only way I was going to get the shed I wanted was to create it myself, which presented me with my next challenge.

So many choices, where do you start? Here's my number 1 choice...
Orchid Variety: Genus - CYMBIDIUM
* Ideal in a cool, light situation.
* Can be placed outdoors in a shaded place for the summer but must be kept well watered.
* Flowers every winter and spring for between 6 and 8 weeks with tall sprays of blooms in a wide variety of colors.
* Very popular when used as corsage orchids.
* Can grow large over time.
CARE FOR CYMBIDIUM
Cymbidium orchids are always popular with their beautiful flowers lasting many weeks.
They grow best in a cool conservatory and should be placed outdoors in the summer.
They flower most in the winter and spring although there are also summer and autumn varieties also.
Standard varieties can grow into large plants with large flowers and bulbs.
Miniature or compact varieties are more manageable. Cymbidium orchids should be re-potted in the spring after flowering when they have outgrown their pots about every 2 to 3 years.
This variety of orchid should be kept cool in summer and kept outdoors to aid re-flowering and given lots of light in winter.
Keeping them too warm will prevent the orchid from flowering.
When the blooms die off, trim the stem right down to the base.
The next generation of flowers will grow from the next pseudobulb that the plant produces.
TEMPERATURE:
Cymbidiums like a minimum temperature of 8°C (45°F) in winter to expose them to enough of a change in conditions from the warm summer, when a maximum temperature of 30°C (85°F) is enough.
LIGHTING CONDITIONS:
Try to keep from bright, direct summer sunlight as this can scorch the leaves. Expose them to as much light possible during the dark winter months.
WATERING:
Try to keep the free draining bark compost moist with more frequent watering during the spring and summer, their main growing season.
When watering, let the water drain right through before returning it back in it's planter. Avoid letting the pot stand in water.
Let the bark compost to dry out slightly before watering again. Try to avoid water collecting in the crown of the plant as this may result in the plant rotting.
Add a little orchid fertilizer to the water once every 2 or 3 (approx. every 10-14 days) from March to September.

How to Build a Shed
You would think that the decision, the purchase and the delivery of a shed would be a pretty smooth affair wouldn't you? Yes, incredibly I'm talking about a shed. I'm going to be a little courageous and suggest that garden sheds are a bit of a male thing. I'm not normally controversial and that's not my intention here but sometime ago we decided that we needed a plain old, run of the mill garden shed.
On reflection I can only suggest that my naivety was down to the fact that I just didn't get how tetchy the whole shed discussion could and would get! How far off the mark was I?

The discussions that followed and sometimes heated discussions would have been more in line with solving much bigger issues than the choice of a shed and in defense of my wife, most of the arguing came from me!
After much consideration I decided that you just can't be flippant or light hearted when it comes to choosing a shed.
After dozens visits to garden centers and shed emporiums, I decided that there was nothing on offer that was suitable, or that any of the sheds we looked at would do justice to our garden.
So I decided to build it myself, with much raising of eyes heaven-ward from my wife. In my defense, I only wanted what was best for our garden, and if I was going to be the one looking after the shed and it's contents, then I wanted a hand in how it looked.
As you might have guessed I had no prior experience and no idea at all of how to build a shed, but as ever I was enthusiastic and willing.
After an exhaustive search for shed plans, I unearthed a brilliant resource that I ended up choosing and after following the plans to the letter, we are the proud owners of a brand new shed, built with my own hands and with my own added features included.
If I'm being totally honest, I'd say that I am extremely proud of my new shed and I just love it. Credit where it's due though, if I wasn't following a fantastic set of instructions I don't think I would be shouting about the result.
In searching for a shed, I quickly realized just how expensive they are and to be fair, it wasn't a matter of cost, we (I) just didn't see a shed that ticked all of our (my) boxes.
Having learned how to build a shed from the start, I now have no fear at all in building another one.
Ultimately it's your choice, but if you find a shed for sale that you like, then buy it, (here, here says my wife!) but if you're unsure, then consider building it yourself. With some good instructions, you absolutely can build your own shed and believe me, you'll be glad you did.

CARE FOR CYMBIDIUM
Cymbidium orchids are a great favourite because of their beautiful flowers that can last for many weeks.
They grow best in a cool conservatory and should be placed outdoors during the summer.
They are mostly winter and spring flowering although there are also summer and autumn varieties also.
Standard varieties can grow into large plants with large flowers and bulbs.
Miniature or compact varieties are more manageable. Cymbidium orchids should be re-potted in the spring after flowering when they have outgrown their pots about every 2 to 3 years.
This variety of orchid should be kept cool and given lots of light in winter and be kept outdoors in summer to aid re-flowering.
Keeping them too warm can prevent the orchid from flowering.
When the blooms die off, trim the stem as close as you can to the base.
The next generation of flowers will grow from the next pseudobulb that the plant produces.
IDEAL TEMPERATURE:
Cymbidiums need a minimum temperature of 8°C (45°F) in winter to expose them to a sufficient change in conditions from the warm summer, when a maximum temperature of 30°C (85°F) is sufficient.
LIGHTING:
Keep shaded from bright, direct summer sunlight as this can scorch the leaves. Expose them to as much light possible during the winter months.
WATER:
Keep the free draining bark compost moist with more frequent watering during the spring and summer, their main growing season.
When watering, let the water drain right through before returning it back in it's planter. Never let the pot stand in water.
Allow the bark compost to dry out slightly before watering again. Try to avoid water collecting in the crown of the plant as this may result in the plant rotting.
Add a little orchid fertilizer to the water once every 2 or 3 (approx. every 10-14 days) from March to September.

How to Build a Shed
I'd like to talk about Sheds. I'm going go out on a limb here and suggest that sheds are a bit of a man. I'm not ordinarily controversial and that's not my intention here but recently we decided that we needed a regular, run of the mill garden shed.
Right up until we started talking about buying a shed, I assumed the process would be straightforward enough and that it would be a quick discussion about what we need, where we'd put it and when we'd get it. Little did I know?

The discussions that followed and sometimes heated discussions would have been more appropriate to solving much more important issues than the choice of a shed and in defense of my wife, most of the arguing came from me!
After much consideration I decided that you just can't be flippant or light hearted when it comes to choosing a shed.
After umpteen visits to garden centers and 'sheds U like' type emporiums, I decided that there was nothing on offer that was suitable, or that any of the sheds we looked at would fit the bill.
So I decided to build it myself, with much protesting from my wife. In my defense, I only wanted what was best for our garden, and if I was going to be the one looking after the shed and it's contents, then I wanted a choice in how it looked.
As you can guess I had no prior experience and no idea at all of how to put a shed together, let alone build one from scratch, but as ever I was enthusiastic and willing.
A thorough search for shed plans unearthed a brilliant resource that I ended up choosing and after following their instructions to the letter, we are the proud owners of a brand new shed, built with my own hands and with my own added features included.
If I'm honest, I'd say that I am extremely proud of my new shed and I just love it. Credit where it's due though, if I wasn't following a fantastic set of plans I don't think I would be shouting about the result.
In looking for a garden shed, I quickly realized how much more they cost than I had visualized, and to be fair, it wasn't a matter of cost, we (I) just didn't see a shed that ticked all of our (my) boxes.
Having learned how to build a shed from the start, I now have no fear at all in building another one.
Ultimately the choice is yours, but if you find a shed for sale that you like, then buy it, (here, here says my wife!) but if you're not sure, then consider building it yourself. With some good instructions, you absolutely can build your own shed and believe me, you'll be glad you did.

So many choices, where do you start? Here's my number 1 choice...
Orchid Variety: Genus - ODONTOGLOSSUM
* A good, compact houseplant for a environment.
* Keep shaded from the summer sun, keep indoors all the year.
* Flowers every 9 to 10 months for between 4 to 6 weeks.
* A wide range of colors and patterns from sprays of numerous tiny flowers up to several large extravagant blooms on a single stem depending on the variety.
CARE FOR ODONTOGLOSSUM
This group of orchids is very popular as they have such a wide range of patterns, colors and shapes. Ranging from large showy flowers on compact stems to tall branching spikes with lots of tiny but bright blooms.
These plants are quite compact, therefore they are a perfect houseplant in that they are an ideal window sill orchid.
Often Odontoglossum orchids flower twice a year or more as they increase in size and because they have growths at different stages around the plant.
This group of orchids should be repotted when they outgrow their pots, roughly every 2-3 years.
Odontoglossum orchids should be re-potted in the spring after flowering when they have outgrown their pots about every 2 to 3 years.
These orchids need to be kept cool and light all year round and they should re-flower easily on the season's completed bulb.
Keeping them too warm can hinder their flowering.

A great start to your Orchid adventure is with...
Orchid Variety: Genus - CYMBIDIUM
* Flowers every winter and spring for between 6 and 8 weeks with tall sprays of blooms in a wide variety of colors.
* Very popular when used as corsage orchids.
* Can grow large over time.
* Ideal in a cool, light situation.
* Can be placed outdoors in a shaded place for the summer but must be kept well watered.
CARE FOR CYMBIDIUM
Cymbidium orchids are always popular with their beautiful flowers lasting many weeks.
They thrive best in a cool conservatory and should be placed outdoors in the summer.
They are mostly winter and spring flowering although there are also summer and autumn varieties also.
Standard varieties can grow into large plants with large flowers and bulbs.
Miniature or compact varieties are more manageable. Cymbidium orchids should be re-potted in the spring after flowering when they have outgrown their pots about every 2 to 3 years.
This variety of orchid should be kept cool in summer and kept outdoors to aid re-flowering and given lots of light in winter.
Keeping them too warm will prevent the orchid from flowering.
When the blooms die off, trim the stem right down to the base.
The next generation of flowers will grow from the next pseudobulb that the plant produces.
TEMPERATURE CONDITIONS:
Cymbidiums need a minimum temperature of 8°C (45°F) in winter to expose them to enough of a change in conditions from the warm summer, when a maximum temperature of 30°C (85°F) is enough.
IDEAL LIGHTING CONDITIONS:
Keep shaded from bright, direct summer sunlight as this can scorch the leaves. Try to expose them to as much light possible during the long winter months.
WATER:
Try to keep the free draining bark compost moist with more frequent watering during the spring and summer, their main growing season.
When watering, let the water drain right through before placing it back in it's planter. Avoid letting the pot stand in water.
Allow the bark compost to dry out slightly before watering again. Try to avoid water collecting in the crown of the plant as this may result in the plant rotting.
You should add a little orchid fertilizer to the water once every 2 or 3 (approx. every 10-14 days) from March to September.

Orchids: A Gentle Intro
Plant Care Orchid: A definitive guide.
If this is your first Orchid adventure, I'd start with...
Orchid Variety: Genus - PHALAENOPSIS
* Year long blooming season and will re-flower from the same stem several times.
* An ideal houseplant for warm rooms.
* Long lasting flowers in a wide range of colors and patterns, large, rounded flowers giving it its common name "Moth Orchid".
PHALAENOPSIS DAILY CARE
This is probably the most popular orchids grown as houseplants and are often called 'Moth Orchids' or 'Phalaenopsis'. These are particularly well suited to the indoors because they can tolerate the dry heat created by modern central heating, in addition, they are almost continually blooming.
Unlike other orchids, they don't have bulbs, instead they grow with fleshy leaves, with new ones formed from the central crown. They produce aerial roots that drape over the sides of their pots as well as taking root directly in the bark compost.
Phalaenopsis will continue to bloom for many months at a time if are cared for in a warm room away from direct sunlight light.
They should be watered sparingly, allowing their pots to drain well. Water every 1-2 weeks depending on the temperature of the room.
Care should be taken not to over water and specifically, don't let water pool in the center.
Phalaenopsis Orchids will continue to bud from the end of the stem and the flowers will gradually open in succession, producing a continuous and attractive display of growth.
The main stem will continue to produce eyes or nodes.
Before all the flowers die off and whilst the sap is still rising, carefully cut the stem clean off above the highest eye or node but before the lowest flowering bud.
If you delay this until all of the flowers have died off, the actual stem itself will begin to die off as well.
The remaining node on the trimmed stem will then soon start to produce a side branch with more flower buds. When these have all flowered, repeat by cutting above the next node down the main stem and so on.
When the base of the stem is reached or if the orchid fails to re-bloom, cut the main stem off at the base. Occasionally a new plant (keiki) may grow from the stem, allow this to grow to a strong size with a few leaves and roots and then gently remove and pot up in fine bark.
TEMPERATURE:
Moth Orchids or PhalaenopsisPhalaenopsis grow happily in the warmth of most modern homes, but try to keep a daytime maximum of 30°C(85°F) and a minimum temperature of 18°C (65°F) on winter nights.
LIGHTING CONDITIONS:
Shelter from direct, bright summer sun which can scorch the leaves. Try to expose them to as much daylight as possible over the long winter months.
WATERING:
Never over water. Try to ensure that the bark compost remains moist all the year round. When watering, remove the orchid from it's pot or saucer, let the water drain through before placing it back in it's planter. Never let the pot stand in water.
Allow the bark compost to dry out slightly before watering again. Try to avoid water collecting in the crown of the plant as this may result in the plant rotting.
You should add a little orchid fertilizer to the water once every 2 or 3 (approx. every 10-14 days) waterings all year round.

So that's my top tip: the answer to the question: Can You Watch Wimbledon online?... you now know that the answer is YES! and I'll be watching again this year on my PC.
I hope you benefit from my simple tip and advice for watching Wimbledon online! If you're a tennis fan and you can't get to a TV , take a look at Satellite TV for PC, It's the best option to seeing Wimbledon and any other TV shows online!
